OBJECTIVE AND THEME OF THE COMPETITION
İstanbulSMD) believes in presenting strong, understandable, contemporary "alternative projects" to society for the benefit of the city and its residents. It considers producing and discussing these alternatives as an important responsibility for architects who bear the responsibility of being civilized and enlightened. With the belief that this constructive task primarily belongs to the youth, İstanbulSMD has decided to open an "Idea Project Competition" for architecture students who are still undergoing their education, inviting them to engage in discussion, idea generation, and active participation in these processes.
The competition consists of two areas. The first area includes the coastal strip extending from Harem to Mühürdar, covering the Harem Bus Terminal, Car Ferry Pier, Port Facilities, Haydarpaşa Train Station and its rear, Kadıköy Square, and Mühürdar Park. The second alternative area includes the region behind Haydarpaşa Train Station up to Ayrılık Çeşmesi Marmaray Station.
Participants will prepare proposals for both areas.
AWARDS
Additionally, as a special award, the project owner(s) of the winning entry will be presented with a "European Trip" with a value of 3000€ (Three Thousand Euros) through Interrail.
