Aydın Boysan


(1921-2018)

Born on June 17th, 1921, in İstanbul, Boysan was the son of Nevreste - who was a teacher - and Esat Boysan - who was an accountant. In 1939, he graduated from the Pertevniyal High School and, in 1945, from the Academy of Fine Arts (Mimar Sinan University, School of Architecture). Boysan pursued his profession until 1999. He was one of the founders of the Turkey Chamber of Architects, where he also served as an Executive Board Member, first Secretary General and the Chairman of the İstanbul Branch. Between 1957 and 72’, Boysan taught at the İstanbul Technical University. Boysan received awards in both nation-wide and global competitions. In 1984, Boysan founded Bas Publications in order to publish his own books. For ten years in a row Boysan wrote columns for Hürriyet Newspaper, and also for Akşam Newspaper for three years.
