Ali Hızıroğlu, after Saint-Joseph High School, went on to study architecture at the École Spéciale d'Architecture, from where he graduated with a Mention Degree, and where he worked for a while as a design studio assistant. Later, he received his master's degree in Architecture and Urban Design at Columbia University. In 2003, Hızıroğlu started working for ERA Architecture. As an architect who embraces a multi-disciplinary and holistic approach in his works, he was awarded with Architizer A+Awards Popular Choice Award in the Office Category for his project Garanti BBVA Technology Campus in 2019 and was selected as a World Architecture Festival (WAF) finalist in the same year. He also received an award in the Building Category of the Chamber of Architects National Architecture Exhibition and Award in 2020.Hızıroğlu, still today, continues his works that focus on architecture and urban design, in ERA Architecture’s İstanbul, Beijing and Moscow offices. Besides his professional work, he also was a member of the 9th term of the Executive Board, Vice Chairman of 10th term of Executive Board of the İstanbulSMD (İstanbul Association of Architects in Private Practice) and is still serving as the 11th term Vice Chairman.
