KG Architecture

Enrolled in 1978, Erkmen graduated from the State Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture in 1983. In 1980, Erkmen started working for TE Construction, with M.Arch Şemi Erkmen and M.Arch Lemi Erkmen. There, he mostly gained experience in residential designs and constructions. In 1990, Erkmen co-founded KG Architecture. Ever since, he has been carrying out projects both in Turkey and abroad as the co-founder of KG Architecture. Besides those in Turkey, he has designed projects which are built abroad in cities such as Moscow, Dusseldorf, Chicago, Medina, Ashgabat, Chimgan, Samarkand, Astana, Bucharest, Bacau, Timișoara, and Constanta. In 2017, Erkmen co-founded Aura-İstanbul and now serves as the Chairman of the Executive Board of the institution, meanwhile, working in social responsibility projects in regards to the profession of architecture. Having participated in architectural design competitions, Erkmen received a number of awards and his works have been exhibited in various media. He now continues to offer his contribution to the profession of architecture, taking part in competition juries and academic critiques as a guest jury member, working as studio instructor, attending panels and conferences either as a panelist or a moderator.
