Nilufer Kozikoğlu

Upon graduating from Mimar Sinan University, Kozikoğlu continued with her graduate studies on urban and architectural design at London Architectural Association Design Research Laboratory. Kozikoğlu today pursues her practice at Tuşpa Nilüfer Kozikoğlu Architecture Agency, meanwhile, continuing her design works & researches at Urban Atölye. Plus, besides her practice, since 2005, she gives lectures and attends design studio courses as a guest lecturer. Kozikoğlu also holds a number of awards from nation-wide and global competitions. Having been featured in the selection of the international collection design platform Adorno İstanbul, she presented her work Alveosis Shell Structure at MIT Boston and Zurich ETH Digital Concrete Conference, as part of the patenting process held in collaboration with UA-Fibrobeton. She was selected to represent İstanbul in the Architecture Foundation İstanbul - London exchange program. Kozikoğlu completed projects of various scales including a hospital for the German Red Cross, a masterplan for Bakırköy Psychiatric Hospital, a planning strategy for the hospitals of İstanbul University and a psychiatric hospital in Kayseri.In 2017, she received the 2nd Prize for her design in Bandırma Design Park Competition. She participated in seminars and design studios as a guest lecturer at the architecture departments of İzmir University of Economics, İstanbul Bilgi University, Yıldız Technical University and İstanbul Technical University. She still works as a lecturer in Computational Design course and the senior design studio instructor at the İstanbul Bilgi University. She pursues her research on material & architectural syntax network structures and computational design methods within SayaSaya. She also works as a co-researcher for the Spacechase - syntactic design and game applications - with the TUBITAK research support coordinated by the collaboration of İTÜ Architecture and Tuşpa. Kozikoğlu’s works have been exhibited in organizations such as the London Design Festival, Milan Design Week, Superstudio, International Antalya Architecture Biennial. She still continues her studies through Alveosis, on digital art monitoring interactive interface.
