Born in 1980, Sevilay Uğur Çekim graduated from Yıldız Technical University, School of Architecture in 2004. Until 2008, she worked for several offices, in design and construction projects of various scales. In 2009, in partnership with Abdurrahman Çekim, she co-founded Baraka in Kuzguncuk, İstanbul. During her time in the office, she carried out projects on a wide variety of scales, including residences, hotels, offices and logistics centers. Moreover, she holds degrees from international competitions.
